Audens had fought in the Legion for about a year and been on the run from it for about three. Life in the Legion had been good enough. A lovely fitness program, free food and board. It was easy to make friends and plenty of topics for conversations, namely the fitness program, free food and board. It was like being a sacrificial boar before the actual sacrifice part, being fed and taken care of for seemingly nothing in return. Then, quite suddenly, the Legion had decided where Audens would go. There was nothing to do but to comply and add “see the world!” to the retinue of conversational topics. Right about here the boar would reach the sacrificial end of his life and think that free food and manicure perhaps wasn’t all that it was put up to be.
