A simple girl growing up on the farm land of her parents Maryse was the young girl as child that seemed to always be doing good. It sounds strange to say...but she obeyed her mother and father and never fought with her siblings. She liked going into town and giving alms to the poor and helping Brother Almus. She also was particularly strong. She liked chopping wood when it was time to prepare for winter. And seemed to take a liking to winning the town's strong man competitions.
