Adrift in a foreign land, dark-skinned Jada-Kai follows the way of Anat, the Mistress of the Winds and warrior goddess. Jada-Kai comes from a nomadic, matriarchal tribe, gone now after a vicious raid by mercenary slavers and Thayan wizards. After 10 long years of slavery and two years on her own after escaping her last master, she knows she can never go home. Like most of her people, Jada is fierce, passionate, sensual and loyal. She is quick of temper and fast of friendship. Her new family is a group of companions known only as Spysong.
