Jian Li : The oriental gunslinger is a delight. A fine combat character, and also insightful PC. You get just enough to understand he isn‘t from the western civilised world, without it becoming a dominating feature of the PC. Shad is excellent at playing these roles and this one doesn‘t disappoint. I‘m having to toss a dice these days for BiG, and unfortunately Li had another one of those days. Still, great play.

Samuel a Warforged: The confusion of the paladin with his fleshy comrades is wonderfully played. Shadani also knows how to play a LG character without the rigidity that can impede party actions too. Excellent, as ever, and once more a very narrow call on BiG.

 |
| 11/12/10 |
Comments in reference to the character Samuel a Wild and Crazy Guy: Samuel seems to be the quietest of the five, even moreso than the stick-in-the-mud ranger. This doesn‘t stop him from being a presence, oddly enough, and his constant confusion at the doings of the fleshy ones is very well played out.

 |
| 10/29/10 |
Comments in reference to the character Samuel: A warforged Paladin; the future of Lawful Good. Samuel‘s a quiet sort, only speaks when he‘s got something to say and feels confident in saying it; but even when silent shadani manages to make him a Presence in the group, and especially in battle. In other hands, Samuel could very easily become dull.

|
|
 |
| 10/29/10 |
Samuel a Warforged: Another fine contribution from Shadani. The paladin is a straight guy for sure, providing some nice opportunities for interaction, but solidly behind team tactics, which is a boon. Having a religious expert proves useful, but not half as much as him staying standing through thick and thin. Good play and excellent RP.

 |
| 10/28/10 |
Comments in reference to the character Samuel an Amazing Mechanical Man: The future of justice, this metal paladin shows promise as a character with plenty of room to develop, but in this game at least he seemed a little quiet, possibly because his moral compass didn‘t point opposite of the rest of the party‘s. Look forward to seeing more, as always.

| 10/27/10 |
Comments in reference to the character Samuel a Warforged: You have created in Samuel a fantastic character who oozes his presence with barely a word. Evidently at home in the setting and an integral part of it. He also acts as a great foil to the rest of the group, providing not so much experience, but a kind of steady, logical hand that helps guide us along our path. Overall, I felt Samuel helped to make the session tonight, and that‘s why he gets my BiG.
|
|
|
 |
| 10/21/10 |
Samuel a Warforged: A rather interesting take on a character using the construct race. Uncertain with regard to the behavior of fleshy creatures, but quite sure of purpose, the interactions resulting from the otherwise motivated members of the group were entertaining. Another good performance so far from Shadani.

A good start from Johan and I enjoyed his critical attributes. Such a character is a must in any game where the plot revolves around the fantastical. I look forward to seeing how he will progress within the group dynamic as the lone foreigner of noble birth thrust amongst a relatively rag-tag bunch...

Jian Li : There‘s a certain style to Li which is fast making him the anchor of the group. Practical, with a sense of keeping his own best interests at heart, but intrigued in an almost amused mannter with what‘s happening to the group. Shad is always fast on the uptake, and this works well in this character to help move them forward. Excellent as ever.

I thought Sofia was really good this session. To me it feels that you have fully settled into the character and we are seeing her more ‘human‘ touches. Once again an invaluable source of level-headed objectivity but during this session it felt all the more real. BiG.

Comments in reference to the character Sofia Armeli a Human: I felt that Sofia connected a lot more with the group this session and got more involved with the general running of things. I thought the backstory to her familiar was very well thought out and it will be interesting to see what kind of dynamic a giant spider will add to our fiendish plans! ;)

Comments in reference to the character Sofia Armeli a Human: Sofia was once again a voice of reason in a world of emotionalism (W+C) and aloof detachment (R). Yet it was also wonderful to see some of that shell come off during the conversations about Amy, and the softer side of our resident scientist shine through. The evidently extremely rich background of this character is fantastic, and I look forward to see more of it slowly seeping out here and there. A character with true consistent depth.

Sofia is clearly an intelligent and likable character - something probably has to be said for her also easily being the most ‘normal‘ member of our little troupe!
I agree with the other reviews insofar as she hasn‘t had the opportunity to take centre stage beyond the ‘Mallard case‘, as she very clearly deserves - I‘m sure our fair DM has some ideas in mind.
It‘s great to be RP‘ing with you again and I greatly look forward to seeing what‘s in store for Sofia in the coming sessions.

Unfortunately we haven‘t had a lot of opportunities to see Sofia in the spotlight, understandable since the poor woman is confused about all the strange things she‘s gotten herself into, but I do hope that will change, since she appears to be a very intelligent and likeable character. :)

Comments in reference to the character Sofia Armeli a Human: Sofia seems to be a voice of moderation in a party often beset with large personalities - making her a very valuable member of the team! Yet she is not merely a foil to others, with in some ways one of the strongest voices among the playing group coming through thanks to her humane touch (always first to reach for some healing magic). A very likeable character, who adds an awful lot to the group. Good show I say.

Comments in reference to the character Alexandre Desmarais: Ever the voice of reason, and a sharp negotiator (when others in the group would let him) Alexandre was pretty much the rock of the group. While not grabbing a prime action role Shadani managed a character that kept a presence in the group that stepped forward when needed. Fine play combat wise and ever ready with the witty comment, Shadani never fails to be a good member of a group. Looking forward to the next PC!

Alexandre Desmarais : There‘s definately a twinkle in this one‘s eye, an impish streak that surfaces every now and then, but predominantly level headed and the peacemaker of the group perhaps? Promising to be as good as any of Shadani‘s other characters I‘ve seen.

Comments in reference to the character Gwen Icari a Flyboy(girl?): Gwen has a habit of being a bit quiet (or perhaps just not as loud as others?), which is certainly a shame as every opportunity taken to chat with her is very certainly time well spent. She‘s engaging and, best of all, incredibly fun to play alongside. Keep it up, Shad.

 |
| 07/14/09 |
Comments in reference to the character Gwen Icari a Sweet Little Gal (well, maybe): A lot of the time Gwen seems to slide under the radar - intentionally or not, but she really stood out this game in her dealings with the would-be passenger and with the rest of the crew. She rivaled Frank, even, in her attempts at gathering information, and is always extremely quick on the uptake.

Comments in reference to the character Gwen Icari : The young pilot has settled in and matured brilliantly as a character. Her resignation when unable to duck out from under the captain‘s orders, and snarks behind her back, are entertaining plus the developing platonic relationship with Nev is well placed and amusing to watch. Nice RP as ever.

Nikolas Sosigenos a Gnome: The crew‘s mage and ultimately pilot, and a main stay of the group from the onset. A highly entertaining portrayal of a reluctant hero, but determined to see it through in spite of his nerves. Though not directly humerous his comments were often hysterical in their phrasing and the direction his lawful manner got them into were marvellous to see. Vividly and consistantly RPed as a character who changed from a terrified little mage into a nervous hero. A marvellous character worthy of best in campaign.

| 04/29/09 |
Comments in reference to the character Nikolas Sosigenos a Gnome: End of Campaign Review - What can I say about Nikolas? I can‘t imagine the campaign without him, for one. Besides being the pilot of the titular astral ship and the spellcaster of the group, he was also often the voice of logic and reason amongst a very commonly chaotic crew. The character was wonderfully played at all times. Slightly nervous but with a moral compass that wouldn‘t allow simply running away, and a brilliant mind with all the faults that usually come alongside it. His contributions were never dull and never useless, and I‘m happy to have played alongside him.

 |
| 04/26/09 |
Vincent Martinek a Human: I‘ve said it before and I‘ll say it again, Shadani never disappoints as a player. Good work with the lead technologist for the team, and for most of it healer too. He had a lot to do but did not dominate play, managing to make sure almost all that was done was through co-operative decisions except when taking orders. The entire party were good, and BiG was a hard choice, but thinking up the last minute attempt at a course change to save the day scraped it by the narrowest of margins.

|
 |
| 04/26/09 |
Comments in reference to the character Vincent Martinek a Human: Vince was fantastically played this game as the team‘s tech-man, and a better job I can‘t imagine being done. It‘s hard, in a one-shot, to get a character‘s personality across but Shad managed to do so with seeming ease and so earns a BIG.

Nikolas Sosigenos a Gnome: The spellcaster is fast becoming the one around whom a fair percentage of the decisions revolve. Perhaps because he has been there from the onset and is more able to make connections, or perhaps because there is now an arcane centre to the purpose of their task and he feels on home ground. A lot of the key break throughs seem to be originating with him and his developing character is RPed as well as ever by Shadani. It was a narrow squeak that achieved it but a deserved BiG.

Comments in reference to the character Gwen Icari a : Gwen was an essential PC this game, as one of the two people with the actual ability to do anything when the ship nearly goes boom. Her commentary before the fact was priceless, and he frustration at the difficulty of her task afterward was done in a fantastic manner, but that difficulty didn‘t stop her from making some of the biggest contributions of the game. Barely misses on the BIG.

Gwen Icari a : Franklin Valentine a Human: boy did Gwen have to jump this week during the ship break down. The captain had her bouncing every which way. Excellently RPed as handling herself under the pressure of the captain‘s ire, quite literally jumping when ordered to, and good use of skill rolls by Shad. Narrowly losing out in a session where it really wasn‘t fair to only be able to give one BiG.

Nikolas Sosigenos a Gnome: The mage was more comfortable than most with the orderliness of Mechanus, but the questioning of the logic of such order was fine RP. The masterly action, however, was turning into a fey to handle the jumps from cog to cog. With it being impossible to separate several players otherwise, for that spot of RP he gets BiG.

Nikolas Sosigenos a Gnome: The spellcaster remained as amusing as ever. His concern for a potential worsening of Lilith‘s control should she take the potion was well placed and brilliantly RPed. Nikolas Sosigenos a Gnome: I‘m stuck for words this time as, in a session that was pure RP, all the players were simply inspired in their contributions. Nikolas Sosigenos a Gnome: With the spellcaster growing in confidence and picking up more of a leading voice in the group as they bounce from plane to plane. At last! The band of clueless ne‘er-do-wells find themselves entering a lawful plane again. Will our hapless gnome hero be able to recover a little of his sanity?

Nikolas Sosigenos a Gnome: Another fine game all round and an RP reliant where the player worked well. Fortunately Paracs wasn‘t interested in gold so he didn‘t manage to give away their entire fortune. Nikolas Sosigenos a Gnome: The poor, soon to lose his mind, spellcaster and his response to the insanity of Olidammara‘s Den contributed well in a highly entertaining session of RP. The lawful nature is always played consitantly and used to good advantage here. A key contribution in the solution of the invisible maze being a feature of some superb party teamwork. Michael Brooks a Human: Rather quiet and troubled, in a way. Seemingly reluctant to be in the position of having to work with the inexperienced young students, and exasperated by their what must seem minor concerns. Completely consistent in his RP, as I‘ve come to expect from Shadani. Useful contributions, and a reinforcement of the Detective‘s authority too. Great fun to be playing alongside him again.

Michael seems a good addition to UPKI, and Shadani plays the hard-thinking police officer very well. Nikolas Sosigenos a Gnome: The little spellcaster does it again, his lawful streak standing out a mile. Totally and utterly staying in character and working his alignment to the full, even if he runs the risk of getting them arrested for a crime they didn‘t commit. Comments in reference to the character Nikolas Sosigenos a Gnome: While I don‘t think that Nik dominated the RPing in the game, I think that he has done an excellant job of staying true to the character. The poor gnome aristocrate is such a fish out of water in the game, and pulls that off so well, that it justifies the BIG for him. Well done!

Nikolas Sosigenos a Gnome: Another session where the lawful nature of the character shone out against the more edgey attittudes of the rest of the group, played nicely in a steady contrast. The actions over the spell were well handled and contributed nicely to a swift and uncomplicated resolution. Excellent stuff.

Comments in reference to the character Nikolas Sosigenos a Gnome: I find the more i play with nicholas, i find i love to be annoyed by the character. This is not a minus to the player but a complement to how convincingly he is portrayed. Nicholas(the character) is great as the ethnocentric outsider. Nice job with pumping the librarian for information.

| 10/23/07 |
Nikolas Sosigenos a Gnome: Our mage‘s lawful attitude came in very useful this session given the nature of Celestia. Neatly played as feeling vindicated by the atmosphere of the place, and in steadying the chaotic PCs. Well done for checking up on the way the library worked when the opportunity arose too. A session where it was not possible to split the group on RP as it was universally excellent, but a narrow miss on big for the consideration of game play.

Nikolas Sosigenos a Gnome: “Nicklash“ is completely and utterly engaging as a character, taking ‘clueless‘ to an artform. Totally in denial of his circumstances and reluctant to engage as this would require acceptance. The RP around stopping the ship tipped the balance for BiG in a close contest against tough opposition.

Nikolas Sosigenos a Gnome: Wonderfully lawful. Stripped of his possessions and locked in a cell and he wants to know if it‘s strictly legal to escape? Nicely emoted confusion and fearfulness, though spells were used to good effect when backed into a corner. Great stuff.

Moriko -- Very subtle emotes and statements. The timing and the detail all come together in a manner that many seasoned RP‘ers would yearn to master. No wasted words or emotions and a very ~earthy~ character (No pun intended) Cheers -- AV

A mash-pot of different little elements, Moriko turns out remarkably well. The comic element seen this session added a marvellous sense of reality to a character who in the past could have been perceived as being a little too sardonic - flawless in their own mind and actions but always criticizing the world around them. Today saw Moriko being the source of any sardonic reaction - and at no “detriment“ to the character. Great stuff, from a great player. Cheers.

Moriko: The ‘wild child‘ in the party, Moriko gets the BiG for the effort put into standing out as the forest-dwelling outsider with little time or understanding of society‘s norms. Clearly independent and a little impatient with the rest of the party, time will tell if Moriko manages to feel and act like she‘s part of ‘the pack‘.

Shadani has brought an interesting character to the table in Moriko. Her reticence is both unique, but not game-slowing, and her presence genuinely elevates the quality of the game - an almost ineffable attribute to possess indeed. I greatly look forward to seeing how this character evolves over the course of future sessions.

Comments in reference to the character Glyph Fallidra a Halfling: Glyph was a wonderfully wacky character who backed up the wackiness by being a great addition to the group as a whole. Comments in reference to the character Wei Jin a Human: An interesting character. He was quite fiery and quick to go for his sword when he sensed danger. Although most of his aggression seemed to be direct to his travelling companion. Wei Jin must also be quite well travelled in and knowledgeable of the spirit world, as nothing supernatural seemed to faze him. Welcome to the group and I look forward to learning more about Wei Jin

Comments in reference to the character Wei Jin a Human: An exceedingly enjoyable performance from Shadani as Wei Jin. Comments in reference to the character Yan Shen a Human: I thought the party worked really well together this session. Shen was paramount to this through the timely use of his spells and magical artefacts. His Wolf familiar was also a valuable member of the team, taking on the role of a fighter to help Ryuu in the melee. Shen also had some great bits of role-play when scaling the rocks and cliff faces. It was obviously hard work for him but through determination he managed to keep up with the others.

Comments in reference to the character Seacha Valonis a Human: Seacha‘s a stern and aloof character, more a colleague than a companion, but has proved to be an essential member of the group. She is very well played, especially the non-verbal emotes and never fails to comment on, or react to an event or line of conversation, usually quicker than everyone else too. BiG again this week for the understated roleplay that makes her a very enjoyable character to have around.

Comments in reference to the character Yan Shen a Human: A complex character well played as always. With only the two characters in the game the interactions were a lot more intense. Comments in reference to the character Yan Shen a Human: I like Shen‘s confused nature. It‘s played very well, taking into consideration some of the more dominant characters in the group. Plays the role of a serious, young man looking for reason in chaos superbly. His boyish shyness and rolling of eyes at two giggling girls was a cute moment. Comments in reference to the character Yan Shen a Human: Shen is played very well. A bit unsure of himself but contains an inner spark that‘s waiting to be released. Sleeping in late, unable to drink too much sake.. just a couple of the things that bring out the “student“. Comments in reference to the character Yan Shen a Human: Shen is perhaps the most self interested in the party yesterday, always thinking situations through and not wanting to put himself in undue danger. Comments in reference to the character Yan Shen a Human: Yan Shen and Lin Kuo seem to have taken the reins as leaders of the party upon Sun‘s departure and are doing a good job. I also enjoyed his RP with the other characters, and his pet :)

Comments in reference to the character Yan Shen a Human: Once again, Shadani proves that he is a wonderful roleplayer, and an imaginative one at that. There is no better feeling than to see another player come up with one of those inspired little moments - the badger in particular was fantastic. With just 3HP, I must say that it surely takes some skill to prevent your character from dying, and I was highly impressed by your tactics. If there was only one thing that surprised me, it was the lack of any offensive magic. Either you are saving it for later, or have not chosen to wield any - regardless, it doesn‘t detract from your character or the roleplaying. (Merely that, when up against creatures with damage reduction, like the Ooze, magic like ray of frost goes a long way. *winks*)

Comments in reference to the character Kendra Remos a Half-Orc: a half orc..rogue.. that raised quite a few eyebrows. Kendra seems to be primarily used as a labor horse, doing most of the “heavy“ work like carrying and the like. it‘s understandable i suppose seeing as how her previous job was similier, and being a street rat would give her all kinds of skills.

Comments in reference to the character Irenic Inelius a Human: As with Kvet, Irenic is one of the quieter, more sensible team members - so the lack of chaotic, overly forceful characters in the party this week gave him a chance to do other stuff besides respond to the behaviour of others. Forever bored, distracted, frustrated or irritated, but always entertaining.

Comments in reference to the character Irenic Inelius a Human: Irenic was very much in his element as far as this game was concerned, hot on the trail of another piece of necromantic arcanery. As he tries to dominate no-one and seems exclusively focussed on his goals of attaining ‘knowledge + lore = power‘, it‘s easy to see how the group is willing to aid him - he just might rise high, and if he does maybe he‘ll not forget those who helped him get there. Maybe.

Comments in reference to the character Cascady a Elf: It‘s clear she‘s very attached to Amir, her master. This seemed very natural without overdoing it and that‘s good roleplaying.
My biggest point of critique: how could she appear indifferent and uninterested the moment when the tracks split in the desert and everybody‘s (including her‘s) life is on the line? The urgency and the fact that most were halfway through their water supply already, was clear.
[Shadani's reply to comment: Well, Cascady's only 86 years old. That would be 15 or 16 in human years. So she's a bit clueless at times.
And as an Elemental Savant, I was planning on letting her be as unreliant on water as I could. Guess the mod wasn't really suited for that, though. ]

Comments in reference to the character Mercy Cerivanatis a Human: wore the mantle of leader as well as she could. She was the one who kept the party going. Not easy with a moody fighter who runs off occasionally; a cleric that avoids fighting and a bard whose sole interest appears to be singing.
This bad-tempered bandit is great in her own way. You get used to her rough tongue and bad drinking habbits, which seem appropriate and part of the character.

This character is suppose to be the overall leader, but i don‘t think she even can control what small party she has, let alone the new party. I think it might be time for her to step aside and let someone else take over, maybe the wizard, cleric, or the crafty rogue..
[Shadani's reply to comment: Assuming I know who you're talking about...
Wizard: Amir's a scholar. He has no form of millitary experience what-so-ever, and due to story reasons he'd be unable to lead the "main party", anyways.
Cleric: Lawfull-goody Clarion as a leader? Do keep in mind that the leader of our mercenary group is a half-demon.
Rogue: Heh. Balder's not a leader. He's not even a figther. He ussualy runs at the first sign of battle. Yeah, he'd make a fine leader, alright...

Comments in reference to the character Meskhenet a Human:played her displeasure in the second party joining hers really well. she seems to have a strong dislikeing of shadow (because it‘s belived he stole her halberd) and shows signs of distrust towards the newcomers specially atalos probely because he is a drow.there is a strong rivalry between her and among (the elf who was sent to replace her as a leader), mesk‘s personality has develpoed even more in the past few games with the loss and apperance of new members. looking foward to see more progress on her character.

Comments in reference to the character Meskhenet a Human: The leader shows some sign of weariness, and seems to take on a rather self-disruptive attitude. But we all love her nonetheless... She just has to step down from her pediestal and all will be just fine. But while she‘s up there she‘s delivering a heck of an rp performance... keep up the good work...

Comments in reference to the character Meskhenet a Human: Mesk needs to take a nice long bath and unwind her nerves, that crypt really took a toll on her.
odd tho, one would think with all that she‘s been thru she would be able to keep a level head even in the worst of situations. more then a leader she seems like a surviver, can‘t survive if you give up so easily. heh.

Comments in reference to the character Keynassa Eneshir a Drow: the mod started out pretty average and slow, but about 2/3 ways in a twist occured by the hand of the DM. She used her character at that moment to give the mod a compleatly new storyline and the players a new purpose.
It made the mod allot more intresting.
Truely a great RPer to be able to take advantage of it.
