Kalia Silvermane
Kalia Silvermane grew up on the frontier in a garrison her father commanded. Early in her life she showed aptitude for bowmanship and her father, Captain Jonas Silvermane, against his better judgement, trained her well. As the son of the son of a soldier, her father mourned the fact that he'd never had a son but, with dogged determination, he made sure that his daughter was the most accomplished bowman out there. He trained her exhaustively and she spent long hours at the range training, fighting and honing her skills. She earned the respect of the garrison's soldiers and she returned in kind. Never one to seek the spotlight, Kalia worked at her craft.
Her mother, Marianne Silvermane, daughter of a minor lord, was none too pleased with the rough ways of the frontier and the distasteful manners of most soldiers. She impressed courtliness in Kalia that was rather unusual for the area. Marianne saw to it that Kalia knew how to treat guests properly, dress stylishly (for the frontier) and how to serve an elegant meal. She taught her to cook and care for the family home and saw to it that her daughter knew at least a few things about music and dance. Micha, however, cringed at such things and tried in every way possible to escape those sessions whenever she could. Still, she managed to learn most of what her mother wished her to know and she became a rather genteel woman on top of her soldierly ways.
A living paradox, Kalia is an unequaled warrior, fierce companion and friend, and a stateswoman at heart. She is equally at ease in her armor or a gown, though clearly she favors the former. Her smile is quick and warm, her charismatic ways quickly winning most to her side. She is tall and raven-haired. Muscular but trim, Kalia's hazel eyes sparkle at you with mirth and kindness.
