Garbon did not like wizards when he was very young; he knew little of them but what he had heard from his father. He saw them as nothing but clowns with fireworks. Eventually, he learned otherwise when he was of such an age that he was allowed to patronize taverns outside his home town and heard of what wizards were truly like. He was easily seduced by the promise of power (to be put to benevolent use) and, knowing he would need study as well as experience, aquired a large book entitled "Learn Magic++ in 24 Days" and actively sought situations in which to use it.
