What was worse – being the youngest of four or being the only son of a farmer? The answer is both! Alix finds that, when he is not working, he is rather bored. His sisters regard him as little more that a pest, and thus find no need to spend more time with him than absolutely necessary.
With only Rundahm, the family dog, at his side, Alix has spent much of his free time exploring the surrounding areas. If asked about this activity, he feigns indifference, as if he and Rundahm were merely wandering.
Truth be told, Alix is looking for someone to show him a way of living that offers more excitement than farming. Maybe he will find a knight who will take him as a squire! Perhaps he will spot a bandit and save his family from certain harm! What if he came across a nymph, or someone who could not resist his handsome features, so he… BAH!
Alix knows, and dreads the fact, that he will be stuck at the farm for the rest of his days. Family business is family business, after all.
