Depends on the players, really, but also the day of the week. Some EU players will stay up late to play evening US time, possibly more likely at weekends, and some US players are able to play early in the day to match EU evening, again more likely at weekends. However, there's a big difference between EST and PST which also has an impact. I host an NWC campaign at 9:30 p.m. and have 2 US players, but then I have two campaigns that start at 1 a.m. and later, and know two other EU players apart from myself who do likewise. It's a juggling act though, I admit, considering the reducing number of committed players.

It'd be kinda cool if the site had some method of collecting data on this (anonymously). In other words, for those who are pretty sure about when they can regularly be available, they can opt to provide preferred and/or availability time slots. With some fancy web work that data could be used to generate some simple public reports to aid DMs in finding ideal scheduling times. If you want to really get fancy, the stats could also be broadly categorized in some limited way to help gauge what type of sessions people are interested in with a free time slot in common. Probably would need more people to really be useful, but then again maybe I underestimate how many people still use the site. And of course many (self included) probably toggle active/inactive often... I sympathize with the OP regarding the difficulty of finding a good time slot for sessions.

Within the US, there's a 3 hour time difference between East and West Costs, and a further 5 hrs between EDT and UK. Thus, a game starting at 9 PM PDT, would start at Midnite EDT and 5 AM in the UK. You'll likely have the easiest time finding a time suitable for both US and UK players on the weekends when folks are less likely to have work/school issues and more free time to game. During the week, evenings or early mornings before work, usually draw the most players. It does really depend on your players and their schedules though. Some work night shifts or mixed shifts, some are self-employed and have more latitude in their schedules. Also, schedules change, so if you aim for a time slot which is when a greater number of people are normally free, you'll find it easier to get replacements when the inevitable dropouts occur. Karvon
