Got some man.... somewhere, based on the old CRAP scripts.

It's been a while since I looked but they were reasonably sophisticated. Fire and/or acid damage was required to kill them, but there were other features, including holding a torch item would mean they could be set alight when "dead" by regular weapon damage. Plus they will be knocked down if damage from regular weapons makes them fall to 0 HP or below, so they don't damage while being cut to ribbons, but regenerate regular damage even from that position standing up when they are once more above 0.

If you want them I'll dig them out.

The latest CEP has good trolls with custom scripts that do what you requested.

Touch a cep troll with a torch, WHOOF up in smoke like it was made from tar and kerosene. Not at all DnD like.

I custom built our scripts - even the pieces that get bashed off a troll in combat regen in our system - tho it is custom and not released, it could be a good exercise in scripting for you.

Be well. Game on.

Note, GM_ODA, my post said "based on".

And as you say you're not prepared to release what's in your script, it's not exactly helping the original poster is it now?

Baldur's Gate had a good treatment of trolls. You killed them normally, but they wouldn't stay dead unless you gave them a coup de grace with fire or acid.

What's all this maliciousness towards Trolls? Why you all have to be haters? Can't we all just get along?

What I posted IS helpful if he does not want his trolls to be die when struck with a single blow from a torch. *nods* I really have NO idea why the CEP settled on those scripts, they are not like any DND troll at all.

If you'd like to see how it is done, come visit, maybe we can talk shop.

Hope to see you online.

Personal tours by request.

Ahh, there we go. It had to come sooner or later. Unfortunately your server uses completely the wrong setting, as it turns out Valas's needs are for Warhammer 40K.

Moot point, but for those interested in openly available scripts for more accurate trolls, if you have final versions of those scripts (which CEP may not have - I admit - but if not I have a copy I'm happy to provide) that's not what happens. They operate as Urk describes for Baldur's Gate. You can't kill them unless you use fire or acid damage. You can, however, use a torch to ignite them /if/ they have been reduced below 0 hit points in a melee attack and you are holding a torch when you succeed in a hit. They need some polishing if you want something really sophisticated, but for basic needs work quite well.

Less squabbling, please. If you have a script that the OP can use, either post it here or post a link to where he can get it.

No squabbling at all here, but that is how CEP 2.1 trolls worked, right out of their demo module. Equip a torch and hit the troll, poof, no troll. IDK if they fixed it since then, but eh, have no plans of going beyond CEP 2.1 at all.

Regardless of what game he wants trolls for, the offer was there to talk shop. The first mention of warhammer I saw was NOT in the OP's post either.

Be well. Game on.
