Good luck with that. One nice thing about living in Japan is the widespread availability of BB at very reasonable prices due to intense competition between ISPs. Drop me a note when you get hooked up. Karvon

When I was living in the city, it wasn't an issue. I think most ISPs feel that there aren't enough country folk in an area to justify the costs of laying cable.

While most of the Japanese live in highly urbanized areas, you can still get pretty high speed DSL in rural areas here, and even in the city, DSL is pretty popular. You can get up to 50 mps service via DSL here these days.

I've decided to go with cellular Internet service and should be getting the modem/WAP in the next day or two. After it's installed and I see what speeds I get, I'll let you know, Karvon. [edit]: nvm, it'll just be me.
