I'm new to Neverwinter Connections (obviously ), but I wanted to link up a persistant roleplay world we have for NWN1 and ran into an issue with "Realm registration." I found a Realm that fits our world called Forgotten Realms, but the link kept redirecting me elsewhere (some laptop purchasing website).
What I was hoping to do was to join Neverwinter Connections, post our Playerworld website and then post GM events/quests here for any interested in joining in.
I'm not sure if that's a good use of Neverwinter Connections or not?
If it is, how would I go about creating a new "realm" for persistant world registry as the one I could find doesn't seem valid?
You are correct in that NWC is the place to promote your PW and DMed events/campaigns that take place there. We are an excellent vehicle for just that purpose.
What you have encountered is a very old feature of the website that has fallen into neglect. The realms section was not so much for you to post your PW, but was to be used as a repository of "prefab" areas built by members and uploaded to the site. The different campaign settings that you see listed on that page merely were there to help organize the files uploaded.
The redirects are the remnants of a hacker attack upon our site. There are still bits and pieces of their code here and there. The admins have removed the malicious code from most of the website, but they haven't gotten all of it yet.
My suggestion would be to stick to the forums and the game scheduling functions. The calender works as does the buddy list. But from what I have heard, the "My Campaign" section is still infected. Feel free to add a blurb about your world in the "Persistent World" forum and use the game scheduling functions if you are running a DMed event and are looking for some players. If you dig around in the forums, then you will find examples of what I am referring to.
