This is the optional roleplay thread for those participating in my "Robin of Sherwood" campaign. Posting will garner XP, to the tune of 100xp times your level. An additional 150xp will be awarded to each member of the group if all players post.

*Azeem surveys the village with a frown*

I'm not sure a distraction and violent effort would be successful. Guards on duty in the manor would likely remain at their posts, leaving others outside to respond to such disturbances.

*ponders thoughtfully a moment*

Perhaps a more stealthy approach might work? We might be able to drug the meals taken to guards on duty at night and then steal in and out quietly while they doze. If the folk of the village dislike this steward and the sherrif's men, we might be able to enlist them to deliver such doctored dishes.

In any case, while I sympathize with the lad and his plight, I must keep a low profile and avoid compromising myself as I have an obligation to another yet to fulfill.

On the Road to Nottingham

*As the group travelled to Nottingham, Azeem pondered the situation which had unfolded at some length and finally spoke up.*

"You know Robin, while I am well aware that a direct forceful charge is the favored approach for you Christian knights, before we walk boldly into the lions den, might it be wise to gather a bit more information regarding the facts related to your lands? For example, has any legal pretexts been employed to transfer your holdings to this interloper; such as you being declared dead without an heir, or perhaps failure to pay some sort of tax assessment resulting in forfeiture to the crown?"

"Certainly a few discrete inquires can be easily made to ascertain such things and thus you can be better prepared deal with the situation and secure a favorable remedy."

*Glancing around at the puzzled faces of the accompanying outlaws. Azeem realized a simpler analogy might be called for.*

"If you scout your enemies legal defences, you can find where any weakpoints you can exploit might be."

Robin nodded to Azeem, "Wise council as always. I am glad you came back from the holy land with me. Perhaps it would be best if we didn't announce our arrival."

Robin turned quickly to survey his little band. They were all clearly fighting men, although nothing as disciplined as the men he'd faught beside in the Holy Lands. Their entry to Nottingham would cause a stir and the chances were the Sherrif would know of their arrival before they'd even readed the castle. News travelled fast in the city.

"John, I think we need to take guise as local farmers come top sell our wears. You know these loands better than me. Much has changed since I left. Where would be the best place to rustle up a cart, some wears and some more appropriate garb?" he asked Little John.
