Without always having to be logged in?...I want my server to be able to stay up even though I'm not logged in as a player?...Anyone know how to do this?
Yes... you need to run the stand alone server (nwserver.exe). Look for it in your root NWN directory on your hard drive.
OK...is that the one where it has all the server info on it like the password n mod name n such?...if so I have located said file but I didn't see any place where I could adjust it to a stand alone server.
Okay..do not run Neverwinter Nights or Neverwinter Nights 2 from your shortcut. Instead go the directory where you installed it into using Windows Explorer. The default location is I think (and someone may have to correct me here) either
c:/program files/Neverwinter Nights/ or c:/program files/Neverwinter Nights 2/
In there there will be an icon called either nwserver.exe or nwn2server.exe (depending on which game it is).
Right click on this Icon and choose copy. Go back to your desktop and rightclick somewhere where there isn't an icon. Choose Paste Shortcut. You now have a shortcut to the dedicated server applications.

That's the program that allows NWN to run without one of the clients (player/dm) loaded. As long as it's running, your server is running. The program itself is the stand-alone server.
