Actually, on most of the forums I frequent, the person who starts the thread has the ability to edit the header. I use that functionality a lot at ENWorld, for example, where threads can reach thousands of posts (I have a story thread there that's a few years old).

Ok I guess the comments are going here now, in reference to Rizzen’s blog.

As you can see I added the ability to "Jump To Last Post".

Cool, when I first made the comment about the view last post button early Monday morning I thought you’d save all that hard work for the new forums. Glad to see it here finally.

It would be nice to have the ability to change thread names, and not just post names. For example, I have a thread called "Shades of Moonshae - Wednesday nights" because I used to host the game on Wednesday nights. This was fine and good until I moved the game to another night. It's not really a big deal, but I would like the ability to rename the thread to better reflect what it is. Thanks.

I’ve never seen a forum that allowed this for the normal user, but I’m sure someone with the right access could change it for you. I've run into the same dilemma in the past myself.

I know, I have read and enjoyed them LB...I guess I'm just unlucky to have never had the opportunity to be able to change it without an admins help. It would be nice to have that ability though, like Gulfwulf said.

Not quite. Comments to the Blog are in the same thread as before, but if the commentary runs towards new functionality it may be better located here.

It's tough to keep up with this crowd.

AFAIK, it's only possible to change a particular topic's subject and not the thread itself. I've changed the subject of the thread I mentioned earlier, but when I went to the "main" page, it was still showing the old name. I'd like to see it implemented if it wouldn't cause to much work for Rizzen and co, but it's not really a big deal, just something I thought would be nice to be able to do.

Recently finished game sessions were staying up longer, allowing more time to complete reviews. With my real life schedule and all the games that I DM, I find it hard to get reviews in within 48 hours.

Its my feeling that 48 hours is too short and a week is too long. How about 72 hours?

It would be lovely if the game history retained numeric as well as alpha characters, plus punctuation, cos when you read an old game description without them it's hard to tell what's what sometimes.

I looked at my game history for the first time in a while and noticed that the more recent games had the numerals and punctuation in there! Cheers, Rizzen.

Sounds great Rizzen. I'm glad things are progressing and if you need an alpha tester at some point, I'd gladly help out.

Could you tell us if there was any changes made to that 'main' page you had the community vote on? And what color 'won' out in the end if any?

The blue design won out. We are continuing to make changes to the design to spice things up. We realize its too "bland".

We are working on adding color etc. As a matter of fact, thats what "No" is doing at this very minute.

How about a "View All Posts By" option, set up by account? No, I shudder to think of the server chug for anyone that does that for some of us frequent spammers but as an admin tool it would be handy.

EXAMPLE: We often see new site visitors that put the same question or announcement in multiple locations. It would be handy to view their posts and "clean up the trail" rather than hunt and peck to see where else they are posting.

Yeah, I am selfish that way, but the "new visitor post blitz" trend is there... and it's all about making the Moderator's life a bit easier.

Geeze... this sure slid down the forum totem pole as it were. Might this should be "stickied"?

Okay... not sure if this has been requested, but I was hoping that owners of campaigns could set up private threads within their campaigns. The purpose for this would be so that DMs could discuss ideas and what not in the same place as thier players post without it being public.

Either that, or let us have more then one campaign forum. So that, for example, I could have a DMs forum and a players forum.

Anyway... hope all is going well with the rebuild. Hope to see something soon.

DB.

Now that's a good idea...The only alternative I see is to either use email, PMs, or setup a private forum offsite (like on the Bioboards).

Puhzactly... none of which are really viable solutions. The goal is to make this place our "one stop shop" for running campigns. I would just move the whole thing off site if that is the only alternative... and we don't want that, do we?

It would be nice to have one of those image attachment things in the forums for small sized images.

And if our avatars and PC portraits could be square instead of rectangle, I think that would be good?

Just thought of something else. I'd like to request some more smileys, 'cos we don't have very many here at all.

[Edit]

Just a thought, is the new site going to have paper like designs? I forgot what the design choice was, oh well. Anyways, this sort of torn-paper look is what I mean, like for menus and stuff:
